Dear Friends,
Thirty years ago our aim was to build an organization and body of work that would by its beauty open hearts and expand consciousness. We wanted it to touch lives, be uplifting, transformative and connected. We named it LINES.
We viewed it as our vocation and our contribution to the world. We aimed to ignite dance performance and dance training with a new force of creativity and to abolish the idea of the artist as an effete elite.
We sought to build a company with extraordinary artists that represented the diversity in the world, and to form a school where everyone was welcome, and where serious pre-professionals could receive the highest technical training.
We consistently emphasized the personal growth of the individual because we knew that it is through the individual, that the world will change. Our goal was not to teach a 'style' but to create a working system that develops artists who are solid, broad thinking, deep feeling human beings.
It is with wonder and awe that we look back over thirty years, having accomplished much of what we set out to do. And it was not done alone. We have along the way garnered a community of sincere supporters and followers. Thank you.
