Session OneHousing for the first session of the LINES Ballet Summer Program is offered through University of San Francisco. Session one students that choose to live in the dorms at USF are chaperoned at all times with supervised activities throughout the city organized for days off. Session TwoLINES Ballet School will not be providing chaperoned housing for Session Two, but please see our Additional Housing Options below. University of San FranciscoUSF is located approximately two miles from LINES Ballet School and offers students secure, well-maintained housing and meals. Students can eat breakfast and dinner in the USF cafeteria. Lunch can be picked up in the cafeteria during breakfast and taken to the LINES Ballet School studios. Please budget additional funds for snacks, meals during outings on the weekend, and for meals near the end of the session if the student's meal card runs out. TravelThe two major airports in the San Francisco area are San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Oakland International Airport (OAK).LINES Ballet School currently does not have the capacity to provide transportation from the airport to the USF dorms. Super Shuttle is recommended as a safe, convenient, and inexpensive option for travel to USF. Shuttle service can be arranged in Baggage Claim at both airports and will cost $15-20. A cab ride will cost $40-50. Public Transportation in San FranciscoSan Francisco operates on two primary modes of transportation: MUNI (San Francisco Municipal Railway) and BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit).Students living at USF will take a MUNI bus each day to and from the dorms. The ride is 15-20 minutes. The students are routed between two lines, the #5 Fulton Street bus and the #21 Hayes Street bus. Cash fare is $2.00 each way for adults (ages 18 and over) and $0.75 each way for students under the age of 18. Exact change is required. LINES Ballet School recommends purchasing a bus pass to save money. A MUNI pass is valid for one calendar month and three days into the next month. It will be most economical to purchase a bus pass for the first month of your stay (June for Session One and July for Session Two) and then pay cash fare for the days of your stay extending past the first three days of the following month. Chaperones will facilitate the process of purchasing bus passes upon your arrival. Please budget accordingly.
