Audition Requirements (for all students)

  • Audition Registration Form
  • $30 audition fee:
    cash (US currency) or check made payable to LINES Ballet School
  • 4 x 6 Headshot
  • Letter of Intent describing artistic goals:
    1-2 pages describing your aspirations and
    intentions as an artist and/or why you believe our program can help you achieve these goals
  • Resume of dance training:
    1 page resume of training and performance experience

The postmark deadline to pre-register for auditions held January 9 through January 21 has passed. You can still register on the day of the audition.

The postmark deadline to pre-register for auditions held January 30 through February 20 is Friday, January 15.

Students are notified of audition results via email two weeks after the audition date. Please provide a current email address on your Audition Registration Form. You may provide two email addresses if desired. Print clearly! Please contact LINES Ballet School if you have not heard anything two weeks after your audition date.

Video Auditions

Video auditions are accepted for the LINES Ballet Summer Program. Acceptable formats are VHS tapes and regular size DVDs only. Do not submit any other form as it cannot be viewed. Submit all audition requirements (Audition Registration Form, headshot, letter of intent, dance resume, $30 audition fee) with your video. Auditioning live is recommended but, if you are unable to make one of our auditions, please do not hesitate to send a video.

Video audition submissions must be postmarked to LINES Ballet School by February 12th, 2010. Students will be notified of their audition results via email by Wednesday, February 26th, 2010.









Video Requirements for LINES Ballet School

(for audition and/or financial aid purposes)

Your video should include:

• Barre work (one side only)
• Center adagio
• Grand allegro
• Pointe work (if applicable): class work or a classical variation
• A solo of your choice: The solo should highlight your movement quality and artistic choices and can be in any style you prefer, your own choreography or someone else's.

The main focus of your video should be your solo work and your center work. Tapes should be no longer than 10 minutes in length.

Financial Aid

All financial aid applicants must send an application, DVD/video, and tax return postmarked by Friday, March 5.

Dancers auditioning by video must postmark the video application by Friday, February 12. The rest of your financial aid application can be included in that package or can be sent separately and postmarked by Friday, March 5.

The LINES Ballet School Scholarship Program awards financial assistance based on the need of the family and the student’s artistic potential. Financial aid funds are limited and dependant upon the generous contributions we receive each year.
