LINES Ballet is, at its core, a San Francisco-based performing company that supports Alonzo King in creating works of illuminating beauty and sharing them with the widest possible audiences. Grounded in artistic excellence, LINES’ original and innovative work uses the language of dance to express the essence of the human experience and to reveal the spirit that animates all forms. Creating work with artistic collaborators from around the globe, LINES seeks to exemplify human nobility, power and grace; and through its education programs to cultivate strong, exceptionally-trained artists who value artistic risk-taking and independent thinking and to provide individuals the opportunity to experience the depth of expression that is possible through dance.
LINES Ballet thrives thanks to gifts made by hundreds of generous individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies. Their support makes it possible for LINES Ballet to
• create at least two world premiere ballets every year;
• collaborate with great artists from around the world;
• attract the highest caliber of dancers to the company; and
• provide scholarships to aspiring young dancers who wish to study at LINES Ballet School.
