Caroline Rocher

Caroline Rocher trained at the Conservatoire de Montpellier in France with Madame Claparède, and later studied at the Rudra Béjart Lausanne art school in Switzerland. She came to the US in 1998 to study at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, was invited to join the Dance Theatre of Harlem Company in 1999, and became Principal Dancer in 2000. Caroline has danced leading roles in The Prodigal Son, Agon, Fancy Free, Concerto Barocco, Serenade, Apollo, The Four Temperaments, Creole Giselle, Dwight Rhoden's Twist, Glen Tetley's Sphinx and Michael Smuin' Saint-Louis Woman. In 2000, as a part of a NYCB/Dance Theatre of Harlem collaboration, Caroline performed George Balanchine's Slaughter on Tenth Avenue with NYCB Principal Dancer Damian Woetzel at the New York State Theater. During the same year, she danced with International ballet star Vladimir Malakhov at the Career Transition For Dancers Gala. Caroline danced in “Le Gala des Etoiles du 21ème siècle” in Paris in 2004, and then joined the Bayerisches Staatsballett in Munich. In 2006, Caroline danced with the Lyon Opéra Ballet before joining LINES in 2007. This is her fifth season.
